I was born and raised in downstate Michigan, surrounded by the Great Lakes. Summertime trips to Northern Michigan were magical – crystal-clear lakes, lush green nature, charming small towns and ice cream shops, long, sun-drenched days and cool evenings… It’s the perfect setting for relaxation, exploration, and adventure on the water.
My parents were raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and lived very close to Lake Superior—majestic, cold, moody, pristine.
The words to describe Lake Superior can go on—the author of Thunder Bay, Charles Wilkins, describes her as a “wild blue god.”
Alex spent much time in Lake Michigan as a kid. He had not sailed yet but admired the sailboats from a distance. Once in a while, he was invited onto a boat and was in awe of how cool it was.
You can live on one of these?!
